Based on the Wyman river and inspired by the Ghost River Project in Balimore MD, this series of monoprint imagines the reflections and riversides of a waterway burried beneath the Baltimore city streats.
Monoprints, like traditonal intaglio printing, are made from carved or etched copper plates. Instead of creating consistent impressions, each monoprint within a series differs greatly and each is considered its own unique work. This experimental process combines the sculptural beauty of printmaking with looser and more expriesionistic marks of painting.
